Judging from the new 7 Series BMW is presenting here, BMW EfficientDynamics is available in the entire, line-up, from the BMW 1 Series straight to the top of the line-up in the BMW 7 Series. After the presentation last year of the BMW Concept X6 ActiveHybrid, BMW is showcasing another hybrid concept: the BMW Concept 7 Series ActiveHybrid. Wieland Bruch, explains how the unique, broad-scale effect of BMW EfficientDynamics is achieved by technologies used at low cost for customers in all segments. Consistently continuing this strategy, BMW is set to introduce hybrid technology with a great potential for further efficiency borne out in particular in higher segments of the market in more powerful vehicles. As part of BMW EfficientDynamics, ongoing electrification of the drivetrain all the way to full hybridisation offers additional advantages in fuel economy. The BMW Concept X6 ActiveHybrid – also present in Paris – has already demonstrated the requirements to a hybrid model built by the BMW Group: greater driving dynamics under all driving conditions than on existing hybrid cars and, at the same time, a double-digit enhancement of efficiency compared to corresponding models without hybrid technology. The hybrid technology of the BMW Concept 7 Series ActiveHybrid is explained showcasing the individual powertrain components. Truly exciting news about BMW´s ActiveHybrid Concepts is that both will enter the market in 2009, as the BMW X6 ActiveHybrid and the BMW 7 Series ActiveHybrid.
